Anxiety, Conscience, As If Guilty Of Crime

The great bloody battles that humanity has fought outside in the battlefield are only reflection of the rage and ravage inside us. The outside judiciary system and courts pronouncing judgments are reflection of inner courts taking placing in human mind.—conscience occupying the chair of chief justice. Man takes the role of prosecutor, defendant, judge- jury and respondent in the eternal court of justice of mind.

Anxiety, conscience, as if guilty of crime is a severe mental disorder in which the person is torn between the opposing feelings of goodness and ugliness, worth fulness and worthlessness. If anyone finds himself in controversy with him, constant arguing for and against, and then it is sure sign of psychosis. Conscience is not mere abstraction or fantasy at all but living principle of judging things. Conscience is paradigm or set of   fixed beliefs, fixed ideas, fixed thinking pattern and normative ethical /moral values created by man himself or imposed on him by society and to which he doggedly adhered.

Thus the conscience becomes persecutor or punishing principle for the victim. It tortures and torments the victim tenaciously and mercilessly. Conscience is our Guru or teacher that teaches us moral and religious values and norms. Like a teacher it also punishes the students who willfully violate the code of conduct.

It is mental psychosis in which the conscience of the patient punishes the person for his or her crime or wrong doings. The person constantly feels as if she had committed something wrong and she goes on fighting with himself and punishing her own self. The conscience passes the judgment against the person for committing something wrong that is against established standards and norms of society or is not in conformity with the moral and ethical codes or standards of society, religion or cultural heritage.  The guilty conscience wishes to persecute her for its wrong doings and offenses

The conscience is that abstract principle or part of our consciousness that determines and passes judgment for our bad acts and sins. It is feeling of great regret and remorse. It features like two opposing teams playing a match in human mind. The roles of good and bad are played by two feelings / emotions in one’s head or mind.  It is as if angel and devil are arguing and fighting between themselves

in the court of mind. Both are trying in utter desperation for possession of the soul. The victim feels as if she has two souls or two selves always in controversy with eachotheer. The good side of the personality prompts the victim to do something noble and the bad side forbids it instantly.

There is constant tug of war in the person’s mind.  The victim feels helpless to take any decision in one direction. It is state of double mindedness. The confidence of the victim is almost reduced to zero. This contradictory state of mind and binary opposites produce confusion in the mind of the victim and he starts loosing touch with reality. He starts having delusions. The person feels constantly tormented and persecuted. Delusions of persecution overtook her and in desperation she starts punishing her own body by pushing and tearing her hairs from head, by strangulation, or vigorously beating her body with her hands. She may resort to any of the self directed devices causing injuries and damage to self. She may try all types of suicide bids to escape the self imposed penalty. The anxiety following such dual state of mind is tremendous.  It is similar to a play enacted by two characters and mind is its stage or playground.  The two   players or characters are embodiment of goodness and ugliness of life.

The conflicting scenarios produce lot of tension and anxiety in the mind of the sufferer. Such type of mutual dialogues and controversies go on endlessly in the mind of the sufferer and he is torn in between. The person feels as if he has two wills, one commanding to do acts of violence and the other forbidding acting contrary.
